After a blistering hot day Friday, the temperature was only about 80° in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. It probably warmed up a couple of degrees before the sun went down.

A summer cold front came through the area and brought rain through the first half of Saturday and left the skies partly cloudy for the rest of the day.

The temperature was 99° when I drove home yesterday. That was at 5:30. I'm sure it was in triple digits earlier in the afternoon. But a cool front came through the area last night, and forecasters say it will keep temperatures in the 80s this weekend.
