February 28, 2015

I don't think the temperature ever got out of the 20s yesterday. We had snow yesterday, and the forecast called for freezing drizzle last night and this morning.

I can't tell if we've gotten any freezing drizzle, but I've been watching the street from my apartment, and very few cars have gone by in the last 30–45 minutes. Those that have gone by have been driving very slowly.

Last night's low was expected to be in the mid–20s. It was 27° when I woke up.

I'm not going to try to photograph my meter today. I'm going to let it warm up before I try to do that — hopefully tomorrow morning.

February 27, 2015

The temperature probably stayed in the 30s mostly yesterday. There was probably a time when it got into the 40s, but it was in the 30s when I left the office. They're saying it will be a struggle to get above freezing today, and there is about a 50% or 60% chance of snow today.

Last night's low was expected to be in the 20s, and apparently it was. The temperature was 27° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 22530. Yesterday's reading was 22463. Consumption in the last 24 hours was 67 kWh.

February 26, 2015

I went to the office at midday yesterday. The temperature got up to around 50° yesterday afternoon. It was an improvement over recent days.

Today is expected to be a bit cooler, then tomorrow is supposed to be right around freezing with a slight chance of snow.

Last night's low was supposed to be 29°. It was 39° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 22463. Sunday's reading was between 22159 and 22160. That is an average of about 78 kWh per day.

February 25, 2015

The temperature got into the 30s yesterday, but my stairs remained frozen over so I stayed in my apartment all day.

Last night was expected to be a little warmer than the nights have been lately. The forecast called for a low of 30°. It was 33° when I woke up.

More inclement weather today. Hoping to resume taking pictures of my meter tomorrow.

As a reminder, Sunday's reading was between 22159 and 22160.

February 24, 2015

My stairs are still iced over this morning. The temperature has been below freezing for close to 36 hours now. It was in the 20s all day yesterday.

The temperature was supposed to stay in the 20s last night and, as far as I know, it did. The temperature was 26° when I got up this morning.

It is expected to get into the 40s today, upper 30s at least.

Because of the conditions, I am not going to photograph my meter this morning. Hopefully, I will be able to do it tomorrow morning.

February 23, 2015

It was much colder yesterday. It might have gotten to 50° during the day, but I doubt it stayed there long.

And then, as predicted, the low last night fell into the 20s. We also got freezing rain and sleet, which messed up the roads. As a result, I am spending the day working from home.

It is impossible to get to my meter. There is ice not only on the ground but on the stairs I have to take to reach the ground level.

So I'll have to do an estimate whenever I am able to make it over to my meter.

Yesterday's meter reading was between 22159 and 22160.

February 22, 2015

Things were cooler yesterday. The temperature probably stayed in the 50s. It may have gone as high as 60° for awhile.

A wintry mix is in the forecast tonight and tomorrow.

My understanding is that the temperature got to 70° yesterday. The day started out kind of cold and drizzly, but it rapidly warmed up.

Much cooler weather is expected to be here late this afternoon or tonight, bringing a significant chance of freezing rain tomorrow night and Monday.

The temperature reached the upper 50s — possibly even 60° — yesterday. The sun came out, too.

It got cold last night. It was expected to be 31°. It was 36° when I woke up.

But it should warm up into the 60s today, and the forecasters say we can expect more of the same on Friday and Saturday. The next couple of nights should be much warmer, too. Then, however, the temperatures are supposed to plunge into the 40s by Sunday, and a slight chance of snow is in the forecast for early next week.

This morning's meter reading is between 22120 and 22121. Yesterday's reading was 22090. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 30½ kWh.

It was warmer yesterday than it was the day before — but "warmer" is really a relative term. The temperature got into the upper 40s, maybe even the lower 50s for awhile, but it receded quickly.

Last night's low was expected to be around 34°. It was 33° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 22090. Yesterday's reading was between 22050 and 22051. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 39½ kWh.

February 16, 2015

It was much cooler yesterday than it was the day before. Of course, on Saturday we got into the 80s. By comparison, a high of around 65° or 66° was bound to feel cooler — although, for this time of year, it was quite nice.

Last night's low was expected to be more winter–like — 36°, according to the forecasters' revised forecast. And, in fact, it was 35° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is between 21980 and 21981. Yesterday's reading was 21967. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 13½ kWh.

February 15, 2015

It is hard to believe that it is going to get as cold as the forecasters are saying it will — very soon.

This morning's meter reading is 21967. Yesterday's reading was between 21959 and 21960. Consumption in the last 24 hours was 7½ kWh.

Saturday, February 14, 2015

February 14, 2015

That cold spell didn't last long. Temperatures were back in the upper 60s yesterday, and the forecast calls for a high of 73°.

Then tonight's low is expected to be around 47°. I think it was supposed to be in the low 40s last night. It was 44° when I woke up.

Colder weather is expected Sunday through Tuesday. There is talk of freezing rain. But today should be very nice — a little windy, perhaps, but nice.

This morning's meter reading is between 21959 and 21960. Yesterday's reading was 21944. My consumption in the last 24 hours has been 15½ kWh.

Friday, February 13, 2015

Yesterday was a lot like the days that preceded it — warm and sunny. It wasn't as windy as it was the day before.

Last night's low was expected to be 49°. It was 53° when I woke up. The next few nights should be several degrees colder.

This morning's meter reading is between 21906 and 21907. Yesterday's reading was between 21900 and 21901. Consumption in the last 24 hours was 6 kWh.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

In fact, the forecast is calling for highs in the 70s for the next four days, possibly five (the current forecast for Wednesday calls for a high of 69°).

Last night's low was expected to be around 46°. It was 43° when I woke up.

February 6, 2015

Yesterday was a very cold day — at least by comparison to recent days.

At best, the temperature got into the upper 30s, but it was freezing when I left the apartment in the morning — and we had drizzle, which did little to the streets but left a glaze on my car windshield and the back window which I had to scrape off.

Last night's low was expected to be around freezing. The temperature was 37° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 21847. Yesterday's reading was 21785. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 62 kWh.

February 5, 2015

For awhile yesterday afternoon, the temperature may have reached 60°, but mostly it was in the 50s — while the sun was out. But it got overcast late in the day, and I am sure the temperature dropped into the 40s.

This morning's meter reading is 21785. Yesterday's reading was 21746. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 39 kWh.

That overnight low was supposed to be 27°. It was 26° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 21646. Yesterday's reading was 21607. Consumption in the last 24 hours was 39 kWh.

The rain finally materialized as expected yesterday, but it was late in the day. Most of the day, it was overcast, and the temperature remained somewhere in the 50s.

The rain is mostly gone now, but in its wake it is expected to leave much cooler temperatures. Today's temperature is supposed to fall into the 40s by 5 p.m., and tonight's low is expected to dip below freezing.

Last night't low wasn't supposed to be much below 50°, but I don't know if it ever got quite that cold. It was 59° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is 21607. Yesterday's reading was 21581. My consumption in the last 24 hours was 26 kWh.
