October 31, 2015

Yesterday was a gray, at times rainy, day. The bulk of the rain seems to have occurred twice — when I was driving to work and when I was driving home at the end of the day.

Forecasts indicated temperatures would be in the low 70s.

Last night's low was expected to be in the 60s. It was 65° when I woke up.

It's overcast and drizzly today and there are about a couple of inches or so of standing water to wade through to get to my meter so I won't photograph it today. The rain is expected to taper off today and be gone tomorrow so I will take my picture tomorrow and calculate an average for the two days. Yesterday's meter reading was between 28259 and 28260.

October 30, 2015

Yesterday's high was probably in the upper 70s. It may have reached 80°, but I doubt it. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, which made it rather hard to believe that the deluge the forecasters have been predicting will be in the area today and tonight.

But that's the prediction — 80% chance of rain during the day, 90% chance tonight with rain tapering off tomorrow.

I think last night's low was expected to be in the upper 50s. It was 65° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading appears to be between 28259 and 28260. Yesterday's reading was 28253. That would make my consumption 6½ kWh.

October 29, 2015

The skies were sunny yesterday, and they're expected to be sunny today, too. Yesterday's high was probably in the mid–70s. The same is expected today.

Last night's low was predicted to be 54° — and it was 54° when I woke up.

October 27, 2015

The sky was overcast for part of the day yesterday, but it soon gave way to partly sunny conditions; still the temperature never really warmed up. It probably got into the upper 60s, but forecasters said we could expect lower 70s. They're talking about mid–70s for the rest of the week — until Friday, which is supposed to bring cooler temperatures and a renewed possibility of rain.

Forecasters said last night's low would be in the upper 50s. It was 60° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is between 28239 and 28240. Yesterday's reading was between 28233 and 28234. Consumption was 6 kWh.

October 26, 2015

Yesterday was another cool and overcast day. We didn't get any rain, but my guess is the temperature probably stayed in the 60s. Maybe it got into the 70s for awhile. Maybe.

Not much temperature variation overnight, either. I heard the low was supposed to be in the upper 50s. It was 60° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading appears to be between 28233 and 28234. Yesterday's reading was between 28225 and 28226. Consumption was 8 kWh.

October 25, 2015

We did get rain yesterday morning, but it wasn't nearly as heavy as forecasters predicted. By afternoon, it was mostly gone. A little drizzle here and there but nothing major.

This morning's meter reading is between 28225 and 28226. Yesterday's reading was 28215. Consumption was 10½ kWh.

October 24, 2015

We had rain off and on during the day yesterday, then pretty consistently from about 6 p.m. on. The temperature was expected to stay in the 70s, and I am pretty sure it did.

It wasn't supposed to get much cooler overnight, either. The expected low was 68°, and that is exactly what the temperature was when I got up this morning.

I waded through standing water to photograph my meter this morning; if the rain continues through the day and the night, I will not take a photo tomorrow. I will wait until the water dries up. Today, though, the reading is 28215. Yesterday's reading was between 28207 and 28208. My consumption was 7½ kWh.

Thursday, October 22, 2015

October 22, 2015

Yesterday's high was probably in the mid– to upper 80s, but the humidity was higher than it has been. The front from the Gulf of Mexico seems to have arrived in the area, and it is expected to produce rainy conditions here through Saturday.

Last night's low was expected to be in the upper 60s, I think. It was 69° when I woke up.

This morning's meter reading is between 28198 and 28199. Yesterday's reading was 28186. Consumption was 12½ kWh.

Monday, October 19, 2015

October 19, 2015

Yesterday was another mild day with highs probably in the lower 80s. I didn't see or hear yesterday's high, but I doubt that it got very warm.

It seems likely to stay that way this week.

The revised forecast, however, is calling for highs a couple of degrees higher over the next week or so than the forecast called for previously.

I guess they were right about that, although I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of the 90° days. They will surface from time to time before October is over, but we're moving in the right direction.

Last night's low was supposed to be 69°. It was actually 68° when I woke up.
